I love your blocks and that dark sashing is just gorgeous. I think that the white of the design wall may look too stark against the richness of the darker sashing. I feel that the speckled fabric eases the colours a little and does not stand out as much. You could use a darker colour and frame the speckled fabric with a 0.5cm frame all round? That may just about separate it from the blocks a little better? A pity that there isn't enough of the dark sashing to go round. Whatever you choose to do, it will look lovely!
