I am almost finished with the top of my King sized quilt, i only have one applique left. I have started thinking about what i want to do about the free motion and have been getting confused about what i should do. I really want to do something that looks like this

on the water section of the quilt and something like this( I was doodleing in class so please dnt judge the drawing skills lol) on the sky.

but what i dont understand is if i have to start in the middle of the quilt to prevent bunching how am i supposed to make these patterns across the entire quilt? any suggestions tips or pictures of examples are appreciated because im pretty stuck right now. TIA
