A friend does wonderful machine embroidery and she had a quilt done with the silk batting and quilted so gorgeously. It had the most wonderful drape and hand - she used sateen for the embroidery fabric. It was simply exquisite. On the other hand I made a silk quilt for a man friend from his fathers ties. I also used silk and it was really nice also. I just ordered two rolls of wool batting from Quilter's Dream. I have several bats, but they had a sale and I bit the bullet. Love this stuff. but love rolls better - no wrinkles to shake and wait out.
