I just bought my first Janome too. Mine is the lighter and cheaper version DC1050 to take to classes and to travel. Anyway, I have been very impressed with its good straight stitch, quietness, and variety of stitches. since I've only had it a couple of weeks, I can't vouch for how long it will last.
