Dupioni silk and raw silk are actually fairly easy to work with. They're not slippery and slidey and they hold a nice crease. The do ravel pretty bad though so you may want to use a bigger seam allowance.

I forgot to add, there are a couple of books out with bed runner patterns and one of the books also has shams, pillowcases and throw pillow patterns in it. That one is called Make Your Bed.
