I don't have a clue why she'd do this. I also do embroidery and have never used this technique; the stablizier always goes on the back so that wouldn't be it. To me it would make a sticky mess, I don't see the benefit. One user mentioned quilting but even that wouldn't be on the right side it'd be the wrong side inbetween the batting. You should go back to the thread and PM her and ask then come back here and post it because I didn't see the post and would love to know because I've never heard of it.
