I use the long tweezers that we usually use on a serger. One more thing...I was surprised she didn't remove her black bobbin case and clean under it. lint totally builds up under the bobbin case.
I use the long tweezers too -- they are great for getting the lint out. I also use pipe cleaners and I ALWAYS clean under the bobbin case. I have never let my machine get that dirty -- I learned at my Mom's knee that if a machine is kept well cleaned and lubricated the machine will last forever.
