1. For me, a WIP is a UFO that is actually being worked on - after all, Work In Progress indicates to me that progress must be made.
2. I have 6 projects in the true WIP stage but there are at least 15 UFOs in the cabinet and at least that many "ideas" to be turned into something tangible (hopefully finished quilts).
3. Not sure what you mean by "non-quilt" WIPs. We are renovating the house. Does that count?
4. Most are either ready to be sandwiched or already pinned and ready to be quilted.
5. I think this is it - 6.
6. I really don't. The WIPs are all out in the open and I see them. I know what needs to be the next step on each one and work on whichever one I feel like at the moment. Other than that, I share pictures with my forum friends. Any more tracking turn the project into a chore - and I hate chores.
7. Have not counted them. Let's say 3 shelves in the IKEA cabinet and 4 big binders with clear plastic sheets. The least I have is patterns - maybe 25.
8. Sometimes I take ideas from a book. Sometimes I use a technique from a book. Sometimes I combine and mix from different books. Patterns and books for me are very enjoyable. I look at them - sometimes again and again. There is no pressure to actually "use" them. One book I use time and time again is "It's OK If You Sit On My Quilt"
9. The books are in a glass-front cabinet. I don't keep track of what I have. I just know.
