It is washed only by itself. I used a lint brush roller and de-linted it between washing and still a ton of lint. I am not sure if it the brand of cuddle fleece or not. I made a small lap quilt out of upholstery fabric and backed it with cuddle fleece and had no issues. The quilt top is just cotton. I guess I will have to start over
