Oh yes, be sure to get all the lint out of the bobbin area. Mine had felt in there from so much wool lint. We took it apart to get all the felt and fuzz out and that little finger on the bobbin moved and it wouldn't sew. That little appendage had to point straight up in order for it to sew correctly. We had to take both bobbin covers off to repostition it. It was a bit of a pain, but my SM man said this is a common reason FWs come to see him. I remembered him saying that and it saved a trip. Also, always be sure the flat side of the needle is on the left side. This is probably the leading cause of service calls. Anyway, contradulations on your new baby.
