We now have laminated flooring in the living room and I like to keep one sewing machine in there so I can watch TV and sew. I solved the problem by taking a bathroom rug (rubber on the bottom), turned it upside down, so the rubber was on the top and set my sewing machine on it. Now I have the rubber pad to keep my foot peddle in place. And, I can easily put my sewing machine up and scoot it close to the wall, out of the way if we have company.
( I had an extra rug, so no extra expense)
