I am working on a star quilt, pattern from
www.fairfieldworld.com that uses this method. I do not have these rulers, just used my basic 15" grid ruler and diagnoal guide lines. Several from my quilting group are making the same quilt, no one has had a problem cutting the fabric the correct deminisions.
I personally do not have space to store lots of rulers that only get used once.
