Many thanks to all the great ideas girls! I like the outline/shadow arround the embroidery and I think I'll crosshatch the background. I bought some 3/4" blue painters tape this afternoon and am going to mark with it. For the sashing I might get up the nerve to do daisies and/or hearts.
