Your quilt top is beautiful! I just click on the thumbnail pictures to enlarge them. I think I would stitch in the ditch on the stars and find a nice fancy pattern for the bigger white areas. Maybe you can find a triangle feather design to fit there?
I think that quilting design would perfectly accent this BEAUTIFUL quilt... cannot wait to see it all done (maybe by then the picture size thing will be all worked out... LOL!)!!!
