that you can use as bases for pincushions?

I was browsing at a thrift store one and found some cute little "cups"
that I thought would be cute to use. I have 5 of them and they are about
1-1/2" high by 1-1/2" diam.

Those little cups look like they are Japanese sake cups....it should have had a matching sake pitcher to go with it.
