Lands, I've done this for years with cut strips, long before the invention of manufacturer cut strip sets, as most of us can have 'some' error in cutting. maybe today we cut heavy and the next day we cut light......I'm talking about how we might angle the blade against the ruler, slightly to the left /, or slightly to the right \.

You know that sticky note pad I'm always mentioning for accurate 1/4" seams? Just place one to the left of the strips as well as the right of the presser foot.
