Congrats. I know the feeling. When my in-laws moved quite a few years ago, my MIL found some fabric from her mother. It looked like she had started a quilt out of clothes. There were some large pieced sections as well as lots of cut pieces in the container as if she were starting a quilt. My MIL said "here, you quilt", and gave me the fabric. They had a king size bed, so I was able to make a quilt large enough with the pieced sections, the other cut pieces, and borders to make a king size quilt plus a large 24" bed pillow.

The seams were interesting, because my husband's grandmother had sewn the pieces together right sides together, flattened them and then sewn them again. Also, the fabrics ranged from cotton to polyester - it was like a 60's and 70's crazy quilt. The pieces were mainly cut in 1/2 square triangles. My MIL loved it.
