Default Native Beauty quilt for my AZ DDIL

When I visited my son and his family in Scottsdale, AZ, last December, I talked my DDIL (who has Native American heritage) into taking me to Three Dudes Quilting in Phoenix. She really hates hanging out in fabric shops but fortunately, they also serve homemade cookies. Still, to get her involved, I had her choose fabrics for a lap quilt I would make her. The shop people were great, helping us with a pattern (free handout -- I modified it a bit) and coordinating fabrics. Anyway, I finally finished it and shipped it off. Did some FMQing using my Janome 6600 ... getting a bit better at that although my stitches are quite (!) uneven. I tried to incorporate the concept of feathers, and there's a "sun" in the center (although hardly visible in the busy fabric...it will probably show more after laundering).
