DogHouseMom, it sounds like you are making really good progress. It was tricky making the 9 patch so small but not impossible. However, I haven't made the 4 patch on point (I think that is going to be the hardest block).
I actually decided tonight after considering my results of the FF to switch to using my batiks. I have over 100 fat quarters of rainbow bright colors that covers the whole spectrum so I won't need any additional fabric unless I want to expand on some of the colors (I'd like a few more teal and aqua ones). The batiks are a medium to medium-light weight so they should be a bit easier to work with.
I would love to see a photo of some of your blocks and fabrics.
