Returning as a Long Arm Quilter
Haven't been around here for a while because I gave into my desire for a long arm. Researched from the Houston Show last year to the Hampton VA show this year and bought one. I purchased the 26" Innova with Lightning Stitch and PantoVision. Ended up with a 14ft frame after telling my girlfriend that I was going to get a 12ft frame. She asked if I was crazy and had I seen the size quilts that I make. ( I don't like fighting the hubby for covers). After many hours of looking at U tube videos I loaded a customer quilt just after three days of practice. It turned out fantastic. First paper pantograph complete. Then was able to go to St. George Utah to Let's Quilt for three days of Quilting Bootcamp. Teryl Loy was wonderful along with all of her staff. Her husband John was a real sweetheart as well. I took the extra day of Feathers class with Corey Alender and loved feathers by the end. On the last day in Utah. My Internet (yes I saw she was going to be out there at the same time and asked if she wanted to share a room so we could spend more money on gadgets or thread. She said yes and we had a great time. Never met a quilter I didn't like) girlfriend Sheryl Till (Quilting Tizzy) went to Superior threads and got to check out the new fabric section and say hello to Bob and Heather, Mother Superior. Then checked out several local quilt shops.
Upon arriving home I've completed one more customer quilt. The first on the PantoVision and getting ready to load the next.
I'm sew excited about my new "job". After having had no luck since the end of September trying to find an accounting position. I finally have a creative and enjoyable "job" that will hopefully pick up some great new friends along the way.
Glad to be back
