After our 17 yr old poodle died that we had since he was 8 weeks old- there was a 6 year void of which I couldn't get another animal (Sherlock dying just broke my heart, and whom I still miss) .. Then one day we were at the Roice Hurst no kill shelter here and I saw her .. She is my avatar- I am so glad she rescued me from a life of loneliness and not having another animal in my heart .. thank you for sharing this lovely story- I printed it on velum and going to frame it. maybe even make her a quilt out of dog material with those words on it ..
