Lets see where shall I start.

First

YES I totally agree that this thread SHOULD have it's own
section, as more and more people who own or are getting
embroidery machines discover that they can also enhance
their quilts with embroidery blocks and labels. I wonder if
we all sent in the request if that would help or hurt us? with
our luck it would hurt. But it is so hard to keep this post on
page one towards the top.

Second

As for storing my designs. Well I have over 100k designs
so I started with a folder on my computer desktop labeled
as "PES" (the format my machines take). But a few months
ago I moved that folder to the "library" section.

Now as for computers, I have 1 desktop, 1 notebook, and 1
netbook. All of my designs are on the desktop, but recently
I decided to setup my netbook as my "MAIN" design computer
in the sewing room, I dedicated this netbook for that purpose
because I was able to connect my newest embroidery machine
to a computer via a USB cable (which it came with). From there
I pulled out one of my (I have 5) 16 gig flash drives and saved
ALL of my designs to it.

However now I have an issue with even doing it that way as I am
ALWAYS getting new designs (downloaded to may desktop) and
I don't get them over to the flash drive like I should.

When I get designs I create folders with the name of where I got
them from (such as embroidery library, designs by sick, etc..) so
when I get new designs from a website I save them to the right
folder. Many times if I get designs for a "special" reason such as
for the June Doll Quilt swap I purchased a couple designs that is
"related" to the theme and design of what the DQ will be in, so I
created a folder with that name "June Doll Quilt) and saved the
designs there so that they can be found faster. Also since I LOVE
making FSL I have 3 folders setup just for those, the first is for
BOOKMARKS only, the second is for CHRISTMAS only, and the
last is for all other FSL designs.

However I HOPE to someday get ALL my designs folders reworked
and a different "sorting" system in place for them and make it as
easy to work with as I possibly can (I have tried MANY things over
the past 6-1/2 years).

HAPPY EMBROIDERY everyone (and on everything).
