I would make different stars with them and then sash with a solid red or green fabric. As a matter of fact--I have a box full of Christmas Stars with the sashing fabric in my UFO cabinet. I plan to set my favorite star on point and surround it with setting triangles which will also make a star pattern. The rest of the blocks will be straight set with sashing. I might drag it back out and work on it as soon as I finish the 3 projects I am currently bouncing back & forth on.
That's a really good idea. And I have some pretty white fabric that could be used as the background. Hope you post pictures of your star quilt when you're finished.
