The winner gets a prize. This is harder to do than it sounds!
I remember this game too. You'd hold the clothespin at your nose level, and try to drop it in the jar.
Another game my mother loved to play at showers was for each lady to take a regular spring clothespin, reach between her legs, and try to clip the clothespin as high up on her backside as she could. This worked better back when ladies wore dresses or skirts more often, but it could still be fun. It was hilarious to watch adult women, sometimes OLD women, twisting and contorting to try and get that clothespin higher than anyone else's. Of course, the winner got a nice prize.
