I bought a used machine just like this one when I was a new bride; bought it in 1981. It was a great machine, none of the annoying things that the Touch and Throws did. It didn't take cams, the bobbin wound on the top of the machine; it was a great machine. It had a heavy duty cord and the plug was 3 pronged. I later replaced it with a new Singer in about 1986, bad idea, the new machine was trouble from day one.
