quiltingcurious! I used an old traditional pattern called "Road to Oklahoma" -- loved the tie-in with my family history as my grandmother, who raised me, moved to Oklahoma in a covered wagon in 1896. She was 3 years old. (There's a funny family story about how the family got several miles down the road before they realized she wasn't in the wagon ... she had gone over a neighbor's farm to say goodbye to their new litter of pigs ... )
I made this quilt during a time of great financial hardship -- couldn't pay my rent, had to go to the food bank in order to eat, obviously had NO money for fabric. At all. I ended up swapping fabric with several online quilting friends so I'd have enough solids. I called it "Busy Signal on the Information Superhighway" and it's still one of my favorites.
