qb, we both bought our new 301A s at close to the same time. Mines a short bed black too - 1956. They could be sisters! I got much needed advice here too. I really enjoyed cleaning her up and she sews beautifully. Already half way into a small quilt with her! I don't think I've ever loved a sewing machine before, but i do now with my 301!
That is so sweet that you named yours after your grandma! If i did that I would have to name mine Valborg!
