"The Quilters Complete Guide" by Fons and Porter was my go to book when I started quilting. It was a gift from DH for Christmas one year. I also took a class from my LQS that was a sampler quilt top. Learned some of the basics that way. Also agree with Judi in Ohio about You Tube. Used it the other day while sewing with friends because I could not figure out the written information for a dimensional flying geese block. Just pulled up tute on my phone.
