It's a great looking block -
I hope this makes sense.
When I make a quilt with this many pieces, i do try to stay organized.
I keep all the pieces in plastic sandwich bags.

Then I only take out the number of pieces that I need for the block.

Then I lay them out and make sure they are in the right place and turned in the right directions, since placement is everything in this quilt.

then I take them up one row at a time , starting at the bottom, and placing a pin in them. All except for the top block

Then I sew the first row.

then I sew the second row, and place it on top of the first row. I pin all the seam lines, and all the seams, making sure they are turned in the right directions, being toward the navy.
