You will only have to turn it if the quilting design you are using is more than 4" or you used a puffy batting. If you used a cotton batting and are just doodling all over it--you should be able to make it all the way to the end. I have never had to turn a quilt either. I would break down the designs I wanted to use so none were larger than 4" in a single pass. Break the design in half or needle down/roll/needle down/rollback.....It is a pain but working backwards from the center was too complicated for my brain--LOL.
