This person is trying to set the record straiGht on vintage machines:
http://tulsa.craigslist.org/atq/3067913102.html

Sadly this will be delated before many read it. Those of you selling sewing machines and typewriters that are old or vintage- really need to get yourself a book on the value of them. The market is flooded with old machines and typewriters and because the value of them wasnt very big to begin with- just because it was made in 1890 or 1900 or even 1920 - they are worth the value of scrap in most cases because nobody collects them enmass and there are thousands and thousands on the market or have been repaired and are sitting collecting dust. I have seen some of them on here 300-400 , for months and months and thats exactly why. Old doesnt mean valuable or collectable-what determines collectability is the amt of them on the market vs the amt of people who want them and there simply isnt the demand. Sorry to break it to you
