The one thing I can think of is seersucker must be serged or finished so no raw edges can ravel. If you done that, I'm not sure what might have happened. The quality of fabric can be a factor, too. Hope you can figure a way to salvage the outfit!! It sounds adorable. I have used lots of seersucker for children's clothes and loved it.
