I had quite a length of self-stick velcro in my notions. I tried sewing it onto several items that I had made and ended up with a sticky mess on my needle. Then the thread stuck to the needle and broke. I threw that velcro into the trash! I'll never use it again
I have used it on the back of an open bookcase to hold up a piece of poster board to block the light from fading my threads. I did the same on the back of a parts cabinet from the hardware store where I keep my notions. I was considering using the stiff part on my sewing machine and the soft part on a pincushion to I can stick it in place as I sew.
