Default Hanging the quilts

I got to help hang quilts today at the NQA! What a great (and exhausting) experience. Of course there were lots of hangers there, with more folks watching us climb the ladder. I was surprised at how exacting it was, we had to go back and rehang at least part of every wall we did, too much left at the end, need to leave blank space for quilt not there, etc. We stood on ladders counting chain links, resizing rods, moving up, moving down.

It was really great to see the quilts up close and personal, much better than how you would get to see them at the show because you were handling them one at a time and could see the individual work for a few minutes at a time. My hat goes off to Bobbie B who is in charge of the set up of the whole display, she has a huge undertaking and does a wonderful job.

I did get a goody bag for each shift I did, the vendors donated those and both of mine were awesome. One bag had six yards of fabric, and the other bag had steam a seam, YLI thread, fabric, pattern and a small batting. I will make it a point to shop at each of these vendors booths when I go back, after a day of rest!
