Jenniky - love the firehouse and looking forward to the rest of your town. I see you are really busy on the forum but sure hope you don't overdo it. Take care of the back.
I, too, have back issues and joint issues I was born with. Add two rear-enders and degenerative disc disease and I know how you feel. My doctor is constantly surprised that 30 pain killers lasts me 6-8 months. Only when desperate. Mind over matter. I look at it this way: if I'm relying on the pain killers now when I am 50, what will happen when I am 60 or 70? I know the joint issues aren't going to get better. But, as QuiltE said, if you have respect for them pain killers can be really helpful. I just added stupidly stubborn to a healthy respect for prescription drugs. I also try out new techniques. Discovered the Alexander Technique about a year ago and am very pleased with the results. It is the first thing I have tried that has actually helped. I am at my full height for the first time in decades. lol
I didn't want to inundate with Canada but I can see your point about wanting to see the front of Canada D'Eh QuiltE:

The quilt is fun as well as patriotic. That's why the name (thanks for the help QuiltE), the maple leaf with EH! and the peppermint candy binding. It finished out at about 43" square so will drape over the front seats of the MINI, which is red with a white roof and white bonnet stripes, perfectly for the car show.
Your quilt looks fabulous QuiltE and I can't wait to see how Monty progresses. Time for you to take over the reins.

Of course, I'll be around. I may even find that I HAVE to do something with the Oh Canada fabric sooner rather than later.
