I live in the north of England about 50 miles from the border with Scotland, approx 90 miles from Edinburgh. A friend works with a girl from Canada and when her parents came to visit we took them out for a day into the Northumberland countryside and coast. We went to Alnwick which if you are a fan Harry Potter was filmed in the castle. I also have a caravan on the coast close to Bamburgh Castle, that was featured in the film, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, so if you decide to come over this way let me know and I can make sure that as well as the obvious touristy place I can take you to some off the beaten track beauty spots.
