My recommendations are already mentioned, so all I can add is have a wonderful time in the city where I was born. It's not like anyplace else. And walk, walk, walk. Most streets are numbered, avenues too, see Greenwich Village and Soho and Little Italy and Chinatown where streets have names. And you never know what you'll find in some tiny out of the way shop.
