A 9W is a 9W, no matter what the sub-number is. ~wink~ I have no idea what the sub number is on this one, but it looks like my machine too...except I know mine is NOT a 9W-7, because it has the donut bobbin instead of the FW style bobbin.

I understand. But perhaps in the near future I'll have an answer I can share with everyone.
I have a 9W-7, when my wife goes to Ft Wayne next month she's going to bring back a Singer 9W in the treadle from her sister. Then I will be able to compare them and share what I find.
