Need advice about dry sinus and nasal passages...
Want to know how you deal with it.
During the Winter I tend to have dry sinus and nasal passages so we had a humidifier attached to our hot air furance and it really does keep the problem to a mininum. Earlier this month I spent a 5 days in Las Vegas for our granddaugther's wedding. Well everything must have dried out during the flight and the dry Vegas air didn't help. The air in our hotel room was so dry that the problem just got worse as my head felt so heavy that I wanted to sleep but couldn't fall asleep as I was so uncomfortable. Checked out Target, CVS, etc. looking for a small humidfied to add some moisture to hotel room but there were none to be found. All they had were air cleaners.
I've flown many times & stayed in dry desert areas like New Mexico, Arizona but never have such a bad reaction. I am going to see my family dr. soon and will talk with him about it and most likely see an allergist but I find that it's back again while home in Jersey.
I'm using a saline nasal spray and keeping the AC on, the cooler circulating air helps. During the summer we usually have the AC going during really hot and/or humid days, turn it down at bedtime and open windows and have fans bringing in some cool moist air. Right now we're having a big heat wave with temps during the day 100 - 110 so AC on full time and the windows are closed.
Right at this moment I'm feeling good, probably because I'm writing this and not thinking about anything getting dry again. I'd appreciate any advice you can give me in case it gets worse. May in Jersey
