Help! I finally got my New Home Climax irons shed of the rust, the broken wheel hub welded, and everything painted. Now, the treadle wheel grinds against the wood of the base. These pieces have been apart since 1966 (until me, it was a one family machine).
Which part do I change? I put washers in between the irons and the wheel and it STILL hits. I'm also not thrilled about how little the hub locknut has to grab now that there is a shorter length of bolt. My first idea was to shave down the offending wood bits but worry about altering the cabinet.
Suggestions?
