Here is a picture of the bottom of my Minnesota ~B~. You can clearly see the coil spring that holds the feed dogs against the bar that drives it.
I suspect yours should have something similar.
Oh, just ignore the "broken spring" with the arrow. I did that to show the broken spring I was trying to get a replacement for.
