you could add -
when we played sports we didn't have any adults to tell us what to do! We had to choose our own teams, make up our own rules, referee our own calls, provide our own equipment, and our parents were not on the sidelines cheering us on!
Not to mention, not everybody got a trophy. You won, you got a trophy. You lost, you didn't... none of this "Thank you for participating" business. "Participating" was required... LOL!
And hey... who remembers party lines?
