This was basically a Jelly Roll Race 1600" quilt, but using scraps from my stash, and not quite the right size.

We just looked for fabrics in the girl's favorite colors (purple and green), and cut them up the width of my ruler. Some fabrics were only fat quarters, some yardage, and some true scraps.

It only took her about an hour to sew the top. Then we realized in the haste to get the top done, I had neglected to trim the selvedges from one of the fabrics, and it showed. So, she got to do applique for the first time!

Then she did FMQ for the first time, that took a couple hours.

The binding was the part that bogged her down, she really didn't care for it too much. So, she brought it to my house and we sat on the couch together and starting at opposite ends, got it done.

She will give it to her friend on Thursday.
Your DGD did a great job. And you did a great job of passing on your love of quilting too.
