OMG I live in Arkansas and have one just like it!! My grandmother made all the grandchildren one in the 1950's.
I wonder if these are that old. The kids couldn't tell me anything about them. They said they had never seen them before. They were in a big plastic bag packed into a room full of crafties. The best part is they will not be put back in bags never to be seen now. That makes me smile.
