Homemade Playdough

You will need:

2 1/2 cups flour
2 pkgs of Koolaid
1/3 cup salt
3 T oil
2 Cups boiling water - I use really hot from the faucet

Mix all the dry ingredients in a med to large sauce pan
Add the oil and mix in.
Pour the hot water over the mixture

Turn the heat on medium heat.
Stir constantly. As it heats through and starts to combine it will begin to form into a ball so when you are done it will be a ball that you are rolling around the sides of the pan.

Take it out carefully it will be hot.
I cool it alittle by kneading it like bread dough and when I think it is cool enough I set the kids at the table and divide the dough among them. It is still really warm at this stage and the sensation is terrific! It also should have a scent to it depending on what flavor koolaid you used.

The kids love it because it smells good and is warm and pliable.

It will keep in the fridge in a zip lock bag or you can let them make statues etc and let them sit out in the air and dry. This may take several days to be good and dry all the way through.

The only statue I know how to make is a duck!! I guess I should make one for Ducky next time I make playdough with the kids!!!
