Thanks for the responses! I decided to go to Joanne fabrics and take a look at some of their machines. After playing with a few, I decided on a Singer Confidence 7469Q. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but I was able to put it on layaway. It seems to have everything I need and it appears to be quite user friendly!
