The Keepsake founders retired and sold the business to The Riverside Company in 2000. New Track Media acquired it from Riverside in 2007. If you haven't noticed changes by now, it probably won't make much of a difference now that you know about it.

ETA: Rob O'Brian, the 'boss' at Keepsake since 2004 is still the 'boss' at Keepsake...and a member of this message board, as is the store manager.
My apologies for passing on an untruth. It was a classic rumor, I guess. My sister heard it from her quilting teacher, and who knows where she got it. Anyway, the store and catalog do seem to be focusing more on kits and precuts than on yardage, but that is a trend everywhere, I think. They still have lots of great fabrics to choose from and most importantly, their personnel are still wonderful. This trip I really liked that they moved the sale room up front and had lots of great items in it. I haven't been there in a few years.
So again: FONS AND PORTER DID NOT BUY KEEPSAKE!
