If this is the case then I most whole heartedly agree with Tartan that baptist fans are the way to go. Traditional churn dash quilting, as others have posted is echo quilting 1/4 from the seam line and a simple cross hatch in the center, look in the lower right hand corner of my quilt pictured here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t107423.html but that is recommendation for handquilting. For LA, Baptist Fan. In my mind feathers are too "fancy" for such a humble homey block as churn dash.
