Those are the same Shiva Paintstiks and rubbing plates I used for this. I'm going to do some of my own "durability testing" to see how well the designs hold up through multiple launderings as well. These paints do have a slight but distinct odor; they are oil paints and do smell like it. The odor isn't strong enough to be noticeable in a wall hanging or art quilt, but I'm not sure I'd want to have it next to my nose when I'm cuddled up under a quilt.
