But I have a question about rag quilts that I just can't get out of my brain. I know the entire purpose of them is to ravel and get all fluffy. But do they continue to ravel? Has anyone had a quilt just come apart from all this raveling? Or does it stabilize after awhile?
That is funny that you should ask, as I just had someone ask me that last week. I am assuming the raveling eventually stops, but this is my first attempt at a rag quilt. I would think the line of stitching in the seam would only let it go so far, but we have all had seams in clothing rip out at stress points (seat of pants, perhaps?) so I really don't know. Any one else know about this?
